Hellasgården, Stockholm Sweden – The swimrun mecka of the world!

We all have our sweet spots for all types of training and when it comes to swimrun, on of the best places we know of is Hellasgården in Stockholm, Sweden. Easily accesible, only a 30 minute bike ride from the city center (bycicle lane all the way), you will find yourself in the Nacka nature reserve which is connected to Tatty nature reserve, making it one of the biggest in all of Stockholm. Here you can wander around in the forest for hours and the reserve has approximately 1.5 million visitors per year.

Hellasgården (a.k.a Hellas) will give you a good feel for what it’s like to do a arhcipelago race. The surrounding terrain will treat you to all aspects of difficult and easy trail and rock running, just like on the islands, with that perfect level of ascent. The lake, which is quite big, will allow you to swim for up to 3 km without getting bored and when the wind is right, you will have bigger waves as well. If you get bored you can just hit the longer trail which will take you to many surrounding lakes.

If your visiting you might wanna go straight for the main entrance but locals park a copule of 100 meters ahead at the free parking.

Here are 3 variants for swimrun training in Hellas:

Run, 2 laps, technical trail

Swim, 3 km

Swimrun, the “8” course

This is our swimrun mecka and we love it.

Where is yours?

Send us a text and pics on your sweet spot and we’ll share it with the world.
